You can’t substitute exercise, good food, healthy living and massages with pills. It simply doesn’t work and it never will work whilst we remain human.
The Body in Motion
The problem with taking medications is they only target a certain thing. If you take something to increase the amount of endorphins in your body, you would receive more endorphins. It wouldn’t be the same feeling as natural endorphins, though, because of the way the body works.
The body doesn’t function in isolation. Moving your arm requires multiple parts to come together to facilitate this movement and make sure it doesn’t fall off. This includes skin cells, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Since the body doesn’t act in isolation how can you expect something which acts in isolation to increase our wellness?
It Doesn’t Add Up
It simply doesn’t add up. You can’t expect to receive the same natural feelings we’re programmed to experience if you aren’t mimicking the way the body works. The body is too complicated to ever mimic, at least with our current level of technology.
Another reason why taking something instead of doing something doesn’t work is because of the various side effects. Nothing which works is free from side effects. If we don’t feel them immediately we will be affected later.
Anti-depressants are a prominent example. They supposedly remove the negative feelings surrounding depression, but for the first few weeks you’ll feel even worse. You might experience bowel troubles and nausea. Is this really the sort of thing which is better than an all-natural approach to life?
Unknown Health Complications
Most of the things we take today are relatively new. We don’t know what it’s going to do to our bodies once we reach old age. Do you really want to risk your wellness by becoming an unwitting test subject for future generations?
What Should You Do?
Do what your body is supposed to do. You’re capable of physical activity, so do it. Relax through massages and spa treatments. Eat good food. Your body tells you these things are good by releasing endorphins and increasing levels of melatonin. Haven’t you ever noticed why fit and healthy people are so happy?
Listen to what your body has to say. If you take medication to artificially alter how you feel you’ll notice how the body doesn’t immediately register it. You know the emotions you’re experiencing are artificial, so they’re never as good as the original.
Such an existence will only lead to disappointment and frustration. You’ll never increase your wellness this way. Go and experience an active lifestyle by traveling to new places and trying new things. Your body will thank you for it in the end.
