TUNING is the process of utilizing a Tuning Fork that is made up of a handle and two tines (tines; eg. pointed part). Tuning is a form of Sound Therapy. When struck by a rubber hammer, the tines vibrate and emit interruptions in surrounding air molecules. As one tine streams outward from its original positioning, surrounding air molecules are compressed within a compact area of space.
The Tuning Fork then creates a high-pressure area beside the tine. When the Tuning Fork tine moves inward, the tine expands and creates a low-pressure area next to itself. High pressure segments of the Tuning Fork are considered compressions and low pressure segments of the Tuning Fork are known as rarefactions.
While the Tuning Fork vibrates, a fluctuation of high and low pressure areas are produced. These segmented areas then move through the surrounding air and transport one sound wave from one location to another.
The theory behind Tuning Forks and Harmonic Healing is that emitted Sound Waves premote self-healing, deep Relaxation and restore mind and body balance. Tuning, or Harmonic Healing sessions are also said to reduce Stress, muscular Tension, spasms and pain. Claims of increased blood flow and circulation by freeing constriction of specific organs are also products of Tuning Fork therapy.
Tuning sessions are also known to transcend individuals to higher levels of consciousness and enable one to access deep, spiritual insights.
