If you are a Doctor in Italy and you don’t prescribe fish oil for your Heart patients it would be considered to be malpractice. I thought that you may be interested in the article below which was just referred to me. It’s quite dated but still relevant.
The bottom line is that Doctors and Cardiologists in Italy have long recognized the importance of prescribing fish oil to their heart patients in preference to the drugs which are commonly prescribed in the US. The article refers to prescription fish oil which is classified as a drug in Italy.
However, a prescription fish oil is not necessary as they are no purer than the fish oil we produce. It is a pity that the prescribing of fish oil is not common practice in the US as yet as I am sure more people would be alive today if it was.
