You cannot be hypnotized unless you are absolutely comfortable and relaxed. You cannot be stressed out and hypnotized at the same time. It just doesn’t work that way. So in order to become hypnotized, you must learn hypnosis relaxation. However, hypnosis relaxation isn’t just important for hypnosis.

Hypnosis relaxation can benefit everyone, whether theyre going to be hypnotized or not. The fact is that everyone could use a little stress relief and there’s no stress relief like hypnosis relaxation.

The first step in learning relaxation techniques used by most hypnotists is to learn how to relax each part of your body separately. You can use a hypnosis relaxation video or even a book but the best way to learn is directly from a hypnotist who can guide you through the process until youre able to do it on your own.

Find a Quiet Place

When learning hypnosis relaxation, its important to sit or lie down in a quiet place with no distractions. Its going to be very hard to relax when you have the television on or the radio, or you have loud noises coming in through your windows or even with the phone ringing. If you cant find a quiet place, get some of those noise reduction headphones. Once youve found your quiet place, close your eyes and clear your mind. If you have trouble clearing your mind, think of a serene location such as waves breaking on a secluded beach or trees blowing in the wind. When you’ve successfully cleared your mind, now its time for you to completely relax.

Relax

The best way to make your body relax is to tell it to. Your body is likely very tense. If its not tense all over, its likely tense in certain places such as your back or your shoulders. Sitting in your quiet place, begin to breathe slowly and deeply. Begin with your toes and tell them to relax. Physically say it out loud if you have to. Relax, toes, or something to that effect. When your toes are relaxed, move up to your feet, then your ankles. Move up to your shins, your knees, your thighs and then your pelvic region.

Keep moving up until youve reached the top of your head. When youre finished, your body should be in a state of total relaxation. This is how hypnotists make sure your relaxed enough to become hypnotized and its a way to completely melt any stress you may be feeling. If, when youre finished, you still have stubborn body parts that wont relax, go back and tell them to relax until theyve complied.
